Orange you glad....

Birthday Sundaes challenge for this week is to create a birthday card using the colors orange, green, and white. At first, I was a little freaked out by this color combination, I almost made a similar version of the card I made last time, with the Popsicles because they were the right color. But after I started to think about it, I ended up making two cards - how funny! The first one is a play on the knock knock joke..."Orange you glad I didn't say bananas". I really don't like how the whole sentiment is on the front of the card. I think I'll make it again with "Orange you glad..." on the front and "...I didn't forget your BIRTHDAY?" on the inside. Orange is from the Preserves cartridge and the punch is a Martha Stewart punch, can't remember which. I'm sure some of you out there know which one just by looking. The second card I made using the sketch for CPS #226. Flowers are from the Forever Young cart and both sentiments are computer generated. Also inspired from a recent blog hop, both cards are made using only scraps!

Orange Creamsicles!

I'm so excited about this card, the colors really remind me of rainbow sherbet, which I absolutely LOVE. I can just imagine eating these two super cold orange creamsicles on a hot summer day. The two Popsicles are from Doodlecharms and are cut at 3". The card background is from DCWV The Sweet Stack and the sentiment is computer generated. MIA and Baby Shower Stuff

Well it's been quite a while since I've been able to post anything. Things got a little hectic here at my house with the end of the school year (1st job is a teacher) as well as tax deadline (2nd job is an accountant), that I wasn't able to write or take pics of what I had made. I was able to make some cards for some birthdays and a baby shower I attended but no pics were taken. Recently we threw a shower for my cousin who is expecting her first baby and I asked if I could make some decorations and some favors (practically begged). I made a diaper cake as well as some simple "bouquets" and some simple party favors. All the cuts are from doodlecharms, create-a-critter, and new arrival. Color scheme was just basic blue and white with a touch of yellow from the duckies. "Grandma-2-be" wanted a very traditional "It's a Boy" feel. Everything turned out super cute and we didn't spend a whole lot. The mama-2-be was super happy as well as the Grandma-2-be. Thanks for looking and I'd love to hear what you think!

Created this super simple birthday card using paper from MME "Party Time" pack and the hat from Doodlecharms. Sentiment is computer generated (can't seem to find my Happy Birthday stamp, I guess I only have one). It's so sparkly!!

I've been busy making cards, trying to get a birthday card just right for my daughter's friend, per my daughter's very picky specifications :) Well I thought I would take a break from the b-day cards and have made this card to enter some card challenges. My starting point was the Tacky Tuesday Challenge hosted at September Ninth blog. The challenge this time was to use the Bunny from Birthday Bash and to use the word "hop", as I don't have that cart, I used Create-a-Critter. I'm also entering this into Cardz TV - "bunny challenge" and Cricut Cardz Challenge - "Spring, pink, green & white".

B-day card

I made this cute cupcake card with some of the great blog candy I won from Celeste at Touched by a Butterfly. So, my daughter asked me to make a b-day card for her friend who is turning 16, her requests were that it needed to have a cupcake and needed to be girly looking. So this is what I came up with. AND she didn't like it! Said it was pretty but too little kiddish! Working with a client is sooo difficult LOL! So back to the drawing board. I made another card (which she also didn't like, can you say teenager!) but I'll post it later...

Cupcake is cut from Straight from the Nest. Paper is from the Sweet Stack and some basic cardstock. Embossed the blue part with Swiss Dots.

I'm entering this into Paper Cutz Challenge - Anything Goes and Gab Stampin Challenge - Birthday.

Guilt and an Award

A couple things have happened to me recently. The 1st is that I won and have received my first blog candy from Touched by a Butterfly. After my initial joy, I felt an overwhelming feeling of GUILT! I felt like I had just taken advantage of this super nice woman who had sent me all these truly amazing things. People is this a normal reaction! My family finally convinced me that I was being a little dramatic.

The 2nd thing that happened was that I received the Stylish blogger Award from Sherri over at Sherri Scraps with Passion. Wow, totally blown away by that -- Thank you so much Sherri!

Upon receiving this award I must thank the person who gave this to me and link it back to their blog and share 8 things about myself. Also, pass along the award to 8 other individuals that I have recently discovered, and leave a comment so that they can pass along the recognition.

Sympathy Card

First I've determined that I must have the longest design process ever! It takes me a very long time to take a card idea from my head and to create it in paper. It took me one week to design this sympathy card for a card swap sponsored by a local craft store. The requirements for the swap were: 1) Design a sympathy card. 2) use a flower. The card is a basic A2 card, sentiment is a digi-stamp from Rain Drop Echo Designs which was actually perfect. The flower, I made using Flower #10 from the Forever Young cartridge, I cut eight layers using 3 different sizes, squished them, connected them with a brad, and inked the edges. Background paper is MME "Best of Damask", embossed using my cuttlebug w/ the twirls and swirls folder (I think that's the name). I think if I changed the sentiment it could easily work as a wedding card. Thanks for visiting.

Here's my entry for Tacky Tuesdays Challenge and the Wacky Wednesday Challenge. TTC needed to use the chick from Simply Charmed and WWC was a farm theme. I don't have that cartridge, so I decided to use the chick from Create-A-Critter. I also decided to make a step card (first time). Barn, horse, grass are also from Create-A-Critter. I just receive my first My Pink Stamper stamp set (Punny-licious) and have been dying to use it. Luckily there were two challenges this week that were perfect for it. I created this card for the Tacky Tuesday challenge and Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge.

Tacky Tuesday required you to use the whale from Create-a-Critter and to have a whale related sentiment. C x 4 required you to use the Create-a-Critter Cartridge.

Mini Monsters B-day Card

Created this card for the Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge #2 (what a mouthful!). The challenge was to create something using the selected cartridge, which we (the "viewers") get to vote on. The selected cart was Mini Monsters, which I am just loving. I think all these little monsters are just so cute. Inside Happy Birthday is from Create-a-Critter, front sentiment is computer generated...I think it should be changed from "in" to "up". But once I stick something down, I usually never go back.

Flaunt It Fridays

I made this card as a Flaunt It Fridays challenge. The challenge was to use the skull found in Mini Monsters in a non Halloween card/project.

The outside of the card is just the simple "Beware" Skull, black card stock with white card stock, I added googly eyes for a little dimension.

The inside tells you what you need to beware of! :) I used the witches cauldron and the lamppost sign, both from Mini Monsters, to create a little Love Potion 4 Sale setup. I think it's cute, kinda subtle.

Around Christmas, I stumbled upon the Christmas Cheer Blog Hop being sponsored by Gloria's Goofy Craft Spot and through the hop I found KinderStampO. I was excited to find that they were holding a January Tag Swap with Birthdays as the theme. I made 16 tags and will be sending them to Texas (that's were Jessica from KinderStampO is located). I'm so excited to see what I get back and hope that it doesn't take too long for the return package. I'm also a little nervous, I hope that my tags aren't too "amateurish".

Birthday Card

Today my daughter, Jessica, asked me to make a card for her friend's mother and I didn't want to make the card too cutesy. So I went to My Pink Stamper (my first choice for inspiration) to see some ideas for how to use the Forever Young cartridge and found episode 205. To say that I like this card is an understatement...I love the way this card turned out. I really am quite tickled with it. I've been working on quite a few things lately. I've joined a tag swap at Kinderstampo.com. The theme was birthdays, so I've created some tags with hats and cupcakes. I also made a "Baby" card using the Songbird cartridge. Thanks for reading :)

Here is a card my daughter India designed and made using Create a Critter and Doodlecharms. Her dad asked her to write a card for one of his coworkers. I was already in the process of creating a card but she just had to make her own. It turned out really cute...frankly all I'm thinking is, "She's gonna need to get her own cricut cause I ain't sharing!" LOL.

Another Christmas Card

Another Christmas Card made for Day 8 - 12 Days of Christmas on My Pink Stamper. Made with Create a Critter, it turned out pretty nice. As soon as it was done, my mom snatched it up, wrote her sentiment inside for her co-worker. Well I'm glad they're being used!

Been busy making cards and tags and shopping for Christmas. Of course I procrastinated so I have been out rushing around buying gifts and dealing with the crowds.

I made this card for Day 6 of the 12 days of Christmas challenge for My Pink Stamper.

I made the penguin tags for another Day challenge for My Pink Stamper but missed the deadline to upload. Penguin is from Create a Critter and the tag is from the Preserves cartridge. My mom will be using them for the gift bags that she gives to her co workers every year. I'll try to take a picture of them.

Dinosaur Card

Mary at CardzTv posted a challenge to create a card without using your cricut. I was totally down for this as I had just purchased paper stack called "STOMP" which has a really great dinosaur motif to it. As I recently found out, I couldn't have used my cricut even if I had wanted to. It seems that my power cord was "mysteriously" cut. I say mysteriously because no one wants to fess up to the deed. And frankly, I don't blame them, because I was pretty upset by this. So now my cricut doesn't work and I am in search of a replacement cord. Anyhoo, I created this card using just the paper from the stack, I fussy cut out the little "flowers" that are in the upper right hand corner and popped them up. I think that it would make an adorable birthday card for a little boy.
